This  schedule is designed to equip youth workers across Europe with the essential skills and knowledge to address youth mental health effectively. Here’s a closer look at the key sessions planned for this transformative training course:

Day 1: Introduction and Ice Breaking

The training will kick off with interactive ice-breaking activities aimed at building a comfortable and engaging learning environment. Participants will engage in name-learning games, get-to-know-each-other activities, and friendly speed dating, all facilitated through the use of flashcards.

Day 2: Setting up the Context

Participants will delve into the mental health landscape across the EU, discussing key statistics and the comprehensive approach to mental health advocated by the EU. Teams will work on case studies from the “Mapping Youth Mental Health Landscapes” report, developing presentations to highlight challenges and solutions for specific mental health issues.

Day 3: Examining Issues and Current National Situations

This day focuses on sharing and analyzing the mental health challenges prevalent in each participant’s country. The session includes creating presentations on factors influencing youth mental health and national strategies or initiatives addressing these issues.

Day 4: Youth at Risk and Mental Health – Marathon of Methods

The day will be dedicated to exploring specific mental health issues such as eating disorders, suicidal risks among adolescents, and bullying. Participants will engage in role-playing to practice intervention strategies and discuss these methods’ effectiveness in real-life scenarios.

Day 5: Focus on Tools and Techniques for Enhancing Mental Health

Participants will learn about mindfulness, meditation, and cognitive behavioral techniques. The day includes practical sessions where participants can engage in activities like a sensory walk, designed to enhance mindfulness and present-moment awareness.

Day 6: Application, Implementation, and Crisis Management

The training will advance to application and crisis management, where participants will brainstorm and design mental health programs tailored to various needs. The day ends with role-play sessions focusing on crisis intervention, providing hands-on experience in managing mental health emergencies.

Day 7: Summing It All Up and Evaluation

The final day wraps up the training with a comprehensive review and feedback session. Participants will present their mental health programs, engage in reflective activities, and complete evaluations to assess the training’s impact and gather insights for future improvements.
